A proxy is delivered as a line with access details. To make it work, enter it correctly into the browser/app and confirm traffic goes through the new IP.
Step-by-step instructions
Parse the proxy format
A typical format is ip:port:user:pass (or ip:port for auth-less proxies). Sometimes it's user:pass@ip:port. The type is HTTP(S) or SOCKS5.
Enter details into antidetect/app
In the profile settings set the type, host (ip), port, login and password from the line. In mobile apps — in the system proxy settings or inside the software.
Verify the IP changed
Open any IP-check service in that profile — it should show the proxy's IP and country, not your real one. Check for no DNS/WebRTC leaks.
Pin the proxy to the account
Use this proxy consistently for that account. An abrupt IP/country change between logins is a common cause of checks and blocks.
Good to know
- For social media, residential/mobile proxies are more resilient than datacenter IPv4.
